Electi ability: Putty body, solid bones
Ability description: Maxima can shift their skin, muscles, and organs around freely; squashing, stretching, splitting… their bones are solid and remain rigid, however. These bones are regular human bones. Bones that are also wet on the inside, granted, but normal bones are also wet on the inside.
Visual description: Blue skin, yellow eyes (including scleras). Is not constantly wet but their skin has a sort of liquid sheen to it. They like to wear gold accessories.
Background: Maxima’s mother had skin that would change colours depending on what nutrients were inside her, and got really into spirulina smoothies when pregnant with Maxima. This is probably why Maxima is blue even though their electi ability is something else. When Maxima escaped womb prison, they were a pile of blue goop that had difficulty breathing. Thankfully, they managed to survive after learning how to be less of a puddle.
Maxima’s father owned a nutritional supplements company, and acquired a spirulina farm for his wife a few months after their marriage as a response to her pregnancy craving. He was arrested for wage theft and embezzlement when Maxima was twelve, and has never been seen since. That being said, the brief time they spent together was very fun and they look favourably upon their father.
Right after Maxima’s highschool graduation from a private electi school, they went to the hospital to hang out with their mother who was being treated for kidney problems tied to protein toxicity. This turned out to be their last interaction, as the toxicity spread suddenly in the middle of the night and Maxima arrived at the hospital again just as she was pronounced dead. It was the first and last time Maxima saw their mother’s colours be drained to a paper-white.
In their mother’s belongings were brochures for ERA academy, a college option just in case Maxima wanted to study again after all. Originally, they were just going to reestablish their father’s company and continue working there indefinitely, but after three years of having to pick up pieces from a disgraced company with botched results, an economics degree started to sound like music to their ears. It would benefit the company from knowing the electi market, and it would benefit the electi as a whole by using market profits to cycle the successes back in. Plus… they want a sense of community again.
Thus, those grandiose plans to reestablish the electi funds network are currently on hold until Maxima graduates, but the passion is there, burning under the surface.
Questionnaire from the Office of Enrollment of ERA Academy, filled on September 1st, 2020.
Q. Full name, place of birth, and birthday
A. Maxima. No last name. Miami, Florida. 31st of December, 1999. My parents celebrated the new millennium with a child that barely made it to see the fireworks.
Q. Relation to Electi (familial, spontaneous; description encouraged)
A. Electi myself. My mother was an electi, with colourful skin. Her name was Dian, with no last name either for heritage reasons. I don’t know if my father was an electi or not. My family used to sponsor electi charities and hospitals, and before knowing about ERA I genuinely thought that that little private school in Miami and my father’s company were the only places where electi were the majority.
Q. How does your Electi manifest?
A. I am liquid, or, putty. Something less than solid, except for my regular person bones. I am otherwise a regular human with a standard neuro and cardiovascular system. My medical needs will be relatively minimal.
Q. How did you find ERA?
A. My mother seemed to want to offer me schooling here before she died, and I think it would benefit me from going at this stage of my life. My father was Gavriel Sierra, (part of this handwriting was scratched over with pen until unintelligible) he was the guy on the bottle for Sierra Spirulina. I was lucky enough to be an electi born into money, and lived a cushy and sheltered life amidst other electi born to the rich and famous. But then I saw the hospitals my parents help fund fill up with others like us, and how other places toss their unwanteds to our hospitals instead of handling them like real doctors should. I wanted to reestablish all of this good right out of high school, but my efforts these two and a half years do not reflect good results.
My mother is correct once again. I need to study to succeed. Learn to walk before running.
Q. What are your goals in enrolling?
A. Oh, I should’ve waited to pour out the big answers. Uh, the above contains my motivation. I want to succeed so others can succeed.
